The
Why Are You Here Café Book
In just its first nine months, this book had
sold on five continents, twelve countries, and across the United States. This
astounding success was based entirely on word of mouth support from readers.
It is the fiction story of a man who heads off
on vacation in an attempt to get away from life for a little while. While driving,
he gets terribly lost. Just as he is about to run out of gas, and hit the height
of his frustration limits, he sees a light in the distance. "A single white
streetlight, shining brightly in a location so remote, it was in the middle,
of the middle, of nowhere."
To his amazement, underneath that light is a
small rectangular building, with a neon blue sign on the roof that says "The
Why Are You Here Café". To his further amazement, when he goes inside
the café, he finds three questions on the back of the menu.
Why are you here?
Do you fear death?
Are you fulfilled?
With the menu for reading material and the guidance
of people in the café, he embarks on a journey that takes him from the
executive suites of the advertising world to the surf of Hawaii's coastline,
as he finds out about life, himself, and just how much you can learn from a
green sea turtle.
