Super Trader Playbook Workshop

Just
like sports teams tend to have their playbook, The Van Tharp
Institute is planning on developing a playbook
for its Super Traders.
We currently have about 40 systems that have been presented
in Van’s books (Safe
Strategies and Electronic Day Trading) and our workshops.
The purpose of the playbook will be to really get a handle on
all of the systems to determine:

What
time frame does it cover?
(That is, the curve above could be for 15 minute bars up
through monthly bars.)
-
What
are the beliefs about each part of the system for each of the
systems?
-
What
are the decision-making steps?
-
What
are your beliefs about market type? How would you expect the
system to perform in each market type (using at minimum Van’s
six market types)?
o
Number of opportunities in each market type.
o
System Quality Number™ for each market type.
-
Is
there real data to back up your beliefs about how it will
/should perform in each market type?
-
What
kind of screening is necessary to be able to use the system?
-
Are
there major limitations to the systems?
Even
if you are not involved in the Super Trader program, you still
should consider developing a version of such a playbook.
We’ll

that you like (if you totally know the logic behind the system
and have sufficient data).
Prerequisites:
To attend you must be a graduate of the Super Trader program
or have been in the program at least one year and not on
sabbatical. If you think
you qualify and have not received an invitation, please contact Van.
Costs:
Free to those listed above, but you must do your homework and
be prepared to present on one system in detail (i.e., one you are
using) and on another six as an intellectual exercise by answering
the questions above.
Goal:
Produce the first version of our playbook that we will
continue to flush out in subsequent workshops.
